Lovely Day

Today is just plain lovely.  Not too cold, or hot.  Enough breeze to prevent stuffiness, but not enough to chill.  Air is clean and smells fresh.  The sun is blind you bright and there are almost no clouds to be seen.  Even the leaves on thr ground are colorful, plentiful and crunchy to step on.

I would love to have more days like today, however, whatever kind of day I get, I will be thankful in it if not for it.

Is It Raining?

Just found a fast and simple way to get a straight answer to the question is it raining.
http://isitraining.in/ is all I need.  Go to the site and enter the name of where you want to know the weather.  Or make it even easier and add the name of the place at the end of the web address.

For example for me locally it would be http://isitraining.in/Elberton Georgia.
The answer is a simple Yes or No and the page is bare bones and loads fast.

Hope this comes in handy

What's up with my heart

I went today to see my cardiologist.
First he has put me on Nitro just in case.
I go next Wed, (Nov 27 at 7:00 a.m.) for a heart catheter procedure.
They said I should plan on staying overnight as if they have to put a stint in, I have to stay overnight for observation.
The doctor says there is a small area at the back of my heart that is showing abnormal activity.
The hope is that this can be fixed with the cath procedure.
If the cath cannot fix the problem, I will have to begin planning for open heart surgery.

To say the least this has me a bit freaked out.
Especially since they said that if I have to have the open heart surgery I would have to spend about a month in either a rehab facility or a nursing home.  Not sure but this could cost me my apartment if I am gone to long.

So I am praying (and asking my friends to pray) that all will go smoothly and that the cath will be able to fix things up nicely.

So keep me in your prayers.

Love ya all.

RIP to a dear friend.

I found out this morning that one of my old friends had died.
I had not seen him in years, but just knowing he was out there was enough.
I loved him like family if not even closer and now he is gone and my heart hurts.
Taj, you will be missed.

Until we meet again.

Kids Explain Love

Love from a Kid's Point of View

What is love, from a kid's point of view?

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth."

"Love is when someone hurts you, and you get so mad, but you don't yell at them because you know it would hurt their feelings."

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is okay."

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."

Site Recommendation: ThredUp

http://www.thredup.com/

Okay, stumbled across this site and think that if might be worth passing along. Who knows you may need it or know someone who does.

ThredUp is a children's clothing exchange.
When you join you get a supply of free boxes from the post office.
You gather the clothes your kid(s) have outgrown, fill a box and then list it.
Then you search for boxes of clothes that your kid can wear and would like.
You pay a fee of $13 for each box you order, and if and when someone chooses your box, you get a free paid label to mail it off.
Swap done.
Site handles clothes up to pre teen sizes.

Hope this is of use to you or someone you know.

Cowboy Wisdom

~ Never squat with your spurs on!

~ Never kick a fresh cow chip on a hot day.

~ There's two theories to arguin' with a woman.... Neither one works.

~ Don't worry about bitin' off more than you can chew. Your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger than you think.

~ If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

~ After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

~ If you find yourself in a hole the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

~ Never smack a man who's chewin' tobacco.

~ It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.

~ Never ask a barber if he thinks you need a haircut.

~ Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.

~ Always drink upstream from the herd.

~ Never drop your gun to hug a grizzly.

~ If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

~ When you give a lesson in meanness to a critter or a person, don't be surprised if they learn their lesson.

~ When you're throwin' your weight around, be ready to have it thrown around by somebody else.

~ Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back.

~ Always take a good look at what you're about to eat.
It's not so important to know what it is, but it's critical to know what it was.

~ The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket.

~ Never miss a good chance to shut up.
